Experience & Education

Laurie Dozier is a founding partner and current president of Mad Dog Construction. After receiving a B.A. from Florida State University in 1972, Laurie became an independent subcontractor before joining Mad Dog in 1977. For over 30 years, Laurie has negotiated and managed over $250 million in residential and commercial contracts with an emphasis on design/build and entrepreneurial clients.

Community Service

Laurie is committed to community service and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare and is a member of the Executive Committee. He serves on the Steering Committee for Whole Child Leon, Chair of the Spiritual Foundation and Strength Action Team for Whole Child Leon, and on the Board of Directors for the Village Square.


Additionally, Laurie has served on the City of Tallahassee’s Committee to Rewrite the Environmental Ordinance, the Environmental Variance & Code Enforcement Board and the Construction Advisory Board. He has also served on the Tallahassee YMCA Board of Directors Chair and the Camp Indian Springs Board of Directors Chair, Chair of the Capital City Transportation Management Association, Betton Hills Neighborhood Association Board of Directors, and the Southern Building Code Congress International.

 

Laurie has coordinated, organized, and managed countless special community "work parties," involving over two thousand volunteers. Some of the organizations and projects include: DISC Village Dormitory; YMCA Camp Indian Springs; Quins Women's Center; Chaires School Playground Project; Miccosukee Land Cooperative Community Center and Swimming Pool; Tallahassee Housing Foundation and Habitat for Humanity.
